1. Scope of Work
True North Blinds provides professional consultation, measurement, and installation of custom window treatments. All quotes provided are valid for 30 days from the date of the in-home consultation.
2. Custom Orders & Payments
- Non-Refundable Deposit: Because all products are custom-manufactured to your window’s exact specifications, a 50% deposit is required to place an order. Once the order is submitted to the manufacturer, it cannot be canceled or refunded.
- Final Payment: The remaining balance is due immediately upon completion of the installation.
3. Accuracy of Measurements
As part of our service, True North Blinds takes full responsibility for the accuracy of measurements. If a customer provides their own measurements, True North Blinds is not responsible for products that do not fit.
4. Installation Requirements
- Access: The homeowner must provide clear access to all windows scheduled for installation.
- Existing Treatments: Unless otherwise agreed upon in writing, the homeowner is responsible for removing old window treatments before the installer arrives.
- Mounting Surfaces: We are not responsible for damage caused by unstable or crumbling mounting surfaces (e.g., old plaster or water-damaged drywall).
5. Lead Times & Shipping
Estimated lead times are provided by the manufacturers (Hunter Douglas, Alta, Springs) and are subject to change. True North Blinds is not liable for delays caused by manufacturing backlogs, shipping carriers, or weather.
6. Warranty & Service
- Manufacturer Warranty: All products are covered by their respective manufacturer’s limited lifetime warranties. True North Blinds will assist in facilitating warranty claims.
- Installation Warranty: We provide a 1-year warranty on labor related to the installation. This does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, or damage caused by pets or children.
7. Color & Texture Variation
Natural products (like Woven Woods or Real Wood Blinds) may have slight variations in color, grain, and texture. These are not considered defects but are characteristics of the natural materials.
8. Limitation of Liability
True North Blinds’ total liability for any claim arising out of a project shall not exceed the total price paid by the customer for that specific project.
